cgi-irc clients...

I was wondering if any thought has gone into either chat-solutions having its own cgi client, or allowing cgi clients to have more than 3 instances on at any one time. The number of cgi clients that allow a change of servers is pitifully small, and so the number of people able to get on behind a firewall is also small.

I personally don't have problems with cgi-clients, but the main issue with them is that all users have the same IP address.  So if you have a problem user, you wouldn't have any real way of banning them from a channel.

For some channels, that won't be an issue; unfortunately the server itself sees them as all as the same comptuer logging on multiple times.  However, I can add exceptions for certain IP addresses, if that's what you need.
